Summer Sampler Paper Piecing

I've been busy working on the Summer Sampler Series from Ellison Lane ellisonlane.blogspot.com  The project was learning how to paper piece.  These little yummy samplers are only 6x6.  Some were really challenging but I got through all nine!   Check it out it is really fun!  Now I'm going to figure a fun way to display all of them.  Cheers!

Visiting Arizona: ASU Graduation & Patrick Lose Studio

My nephew graduated from ASU way to go David!  While out there I went to check out the Patrick Lose studio.  It was fun seeing his designs on display (check out the Quilting Celebrations magazines) and the fabrics he has designed - very cheery and bright happy colors.  Then Patrick just happened to be in the studio so I was able to meet him.  I was so excited to talk to him and learn more about his quilting and fabrics.  It was very nice of him to take the time out of his busy day to chat!  I even saw the first doll he designed.  Isn't she cute and colorful and the purse was really a nice added touch.  It was a fun and exciting trip.

I'm Doing the Hop, Skip & Jump BOM

Happy May!  I signed up to the Hop, Skip & Jump BOM.  Visit SewLuxFabrics.com to check it out. I can't wait for it to start in June.  I'm excited to see what each month will bring.  Along with it being the new month comes a new block from the Sugar Block Club (Visit Stitcherydickorydock.com) along with a new yummy truffle dessert to create.  I guess it times to go and start selecting my fabrics to cut for the May block.  Stay tuned for the photo.  Have a happy day!

April Cheers

It is hard to believe that April is almost over.  Been keeping busy with some fun quilting projects. I completed the April "Sunny Days" from the Sugar Block Club.  This block was paper piecing and it was really fun to make.  Also, I've been working on completing my 2012 Craftsy BOM all I have left is to put all three layers together and then practice the machine quilting.  (Now that will be a new challenge.)  Learning from Leah Day in her Craftsy class.  Then I moved on to make a quick bag for a birthday gift.  I completed a quilt top and now to add some sashing and sew the layers and that will be done.  So I have a few WIP sewing projects taking place.

Have a happy day!

Adventures and Accomplishments over the Holidays

I hope everyone had a nice holiday season.  Happy 2013 to all!

Over the holidays I went to see my sister in Las Vegas, NV.  There we went to the after Christmas sales at some of the fabric shops.  First we visited "Fabric Boutique" where my sister found a cute snowman wallhanging that she wanted me to do.  Oh boy, a cute project I can't wait to get to my sewing machine to start making it.  I love snowmen!  The store has lots of quilt/craft projects up that are adorable.  Then we ventured to another store "The Christmas Goose" and found some cute fabric.  Both are very charming stores to visit if you are in the Vegas area.

Then it was off to Lake Havasu City, AZ to get to my sewing machine to start finishing up some quilt project and start a new one.  Yup you guessed it the snowman wallhanging is in progress.  I finished making some baby blankets, pillowcases and started the finishings on my 2012 Craftsy Block of the Month.  While I was there I did visit one of the quilt stores "JonAli Quilt n' Sew" and made a tiny purchase of some cute quilt fabrics and the backing to my sister's wallhanging.  On New Year's Day it was off to Starbucks to get to the internet where I can view the "Sugar Block Club" Pattern.  Yippee it was there so after a walk by the lake it was back to the sewing machine to complete the first block!

Well, once I learn more with the blogging I will post some pictures of the blocks.

Cheers to a great 2013!
